We are dedicated to supporting victim survivors of military sexual trauma (MST) of any gender. Our mission is to help you return to your core self, achieve comprehensive healing, fortify against future harm, and pursue justice - as defined by you, through trauma-informed therapeutic, prevention, and legal assistance services.
Who We Are
Lifting the Silence(d): A MST Resistance Coalition, Inc. is the result of its founding Board members realizing how deep military sexual trauma, and the predation associated with it, goes within the United States military.
We understand MST to include gender discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual assault, and the emotional, psychological and physical interpersonal violence oftentimes a prelude to and/or part of gender discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual assault.
The fact that some senior military leaders are, on a frequent basis, being charged and convicted of offenses and/or being relieved of their duties due to a loss of trust and confidence associated with misconduct and other questionable behavior that is harmful to other Service Members and/or Veterans is some of the strongest indicia that the United States military has a serious interpersonal violence crisis that requires safe reinforcements for its Service Members and Veterans from the outside.
Victim Survivors of military sexual trauma deserve to be acknowledged, seen, and helped in ways that consistently honor their agency, dignity, and humanity; Lifting the Silence(d) lifts the silenced, by helping individuals reconnect with themselves and (re)discover their voices.
Our Services
We facilitate a range of services to support victim survivors of military sexual trauma:
Trauma-informed therapeutic services
We facilitate various therapy options, including innovative approaches like art therapy, to help victim survivors process their experiences and heal in safe, supportive environments.
Psychoeducation and prevention programs
Our services include facilitating self-defense instruction and other educational initiatives designed to empower victim survivors and prevent future trauma.
Legal assistance referrals
We connect experienced legal professionals to victim survivors who can provide representation in military courts-martial and administrative boards, ensuring their rights are protected throughout legal processes.
Our services are provided by vetted professionals independent of the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs. As Lifting the Silence(d) grows, we aim to directly facilitate more of these services to better serve our community.
How We Help
Our team brings together extensive legal and counseling expertise, to include in the context of the U.S. military. With deep experience in military justice, and in counseling and legal support surrounding sexual assault, sexual harassment, gender discrimination, narcissistic abuse, and domestic violence, we facilitate a comprehensive approach to healing. Our interdisciplinary services are designed to help you regain emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual (however you define it) well-being.
We understand that trauma recovery is a unique journey for each individual. Recovery is not a linear process - it takes time, compassion, and resilience. Our mission is to support you throughout the process, standing right by your side as you progress towards healing and thriving.
